Mary Stanton Knight
Mary Stanton Knight turned her love for storytelling in all its many forms into her livelihood, by seeking to showcase the extraordinary talents and gifts of everyday people through feature stories and documentary films.
A native of New Albany, Mississippi, she received both the North Mississippi Hills Heritage Area Alliance Film Grant through the Oxford Film Festival and the Mississippi Film Alliance Emerging Filmmaker Award for her short documentary film, Dear Hubert Creekmore. Her short music documentary, Singing Out received the Peter Aschoff Award for a Southern Music Project. Mary’s films have been selected by the Oxford Film Festival, Indie Memphis, South Georgia Film Festival, and the UK based QueerBee Film Festival. She’s also presented her work at Shoot & Splice, a filmmaker forum presented by Crosstown Arts and Indie Memphis.
